What are augmented reality and virtual reality for?

Every day the terms augmented reality and virtual reality are heard more , but do we know exactly how they differ and what does each one cover?

What is augmented reality

Let's start with augmented reality . The phenomenon "Pokemon Go" could be the clearest example for this technology that allows us to locate and visualize everything that surrounds us, from monuments, landscapes, products or simply nearby restaurants.

After all, augmented reality shows us the richest world , showing information that we are not able to see for ourselves, combining the image and real elements with others created by the augmented reality software itself.

Only by using a Smartphone's camera can we see a world full of totally real information. By approaching the camera to a QR code , for example, we can see it admin the product that a magazine announces or if, on the contrary, we focus on a monument or building, thanks to geolocation , we can have information about it on the same screen of our phone.

What we need to be able to enjoy augmented reality

✅  The first and essential is an augmented reality software . It will design all the elements we want to be displayed through the devices. From information related to something specific to 3D images.

✅ Another essential element is a camera that can collect the image of the stage that we will visualize later.

✅ An activator It is the intermediary between the software and the camera itself. It is a code that the camera will have to understand in order to process the software and be able to transmit augmented reality . They can be of two types mainly, through a QR code , used more in textbooks, or by returning to the initial example (Pokemon Go) the geolocation system .

✅ Last but not least because it is as essential as the other elements, we need a screen that we teach all this technology in real time .
